Amisha & Ajay's Colorful Hindu Wedding
Amisha and Ajay's wedding at the Hyatt Hotel O'Hare culminated
in three days of festivities with the Sangeet ceremony at 10am and
a huge reception at 5pm that night.
The morning began at 5am, hair and makeup which included many
special effects for the 10 ladies so they could all be ready for
the 8:30am photos. The henna on Amisha's hands and feet were done
the day before but extra care was taken to apply the jeweled
"Bindi" across the eyebrow line and around each eye one at at time
with a tweezer and glue. While this was a meticulous process, it
was part of this bride's special request and my goal is to make
sure every bride has her needs met. Amisha positively GLOWED
especially during the ornate ceremony-- it was important to have
her stand out amongst the decor and extra jewelry!
After a lunch reception and photos at the fountains my hair team
and I returned at 3:30pm to completely redo the hair and makeup in
a less formal "colorful party version " to blend with the fuschia
sari. In Hindu custom, red is the ceremony color and other jewel
tones are reserved for the after party. Again, soft glowing color
was the theme for Amisha and the wedding party attendants. The more
mature family members were done in soft neutrals with punches of
color. The end result was a beautiful wedding party with defintion
and color to balance the ornate costumes. An exciting long day and
worth it to see such a happy bride!
Romantic Sexy City Wedding Story
This wedding party was fun and creative. Hair and makeup
were done with everyone's personality in mind and finished by
11:30 am. We boarded a trolly to hit many city spots to take photos
in very humid, partly rainy weather (it ended). The bride was
smoky/sexy and a few girls were colorful/funky and a few natural.
It was truly a joy to be involved, on a trolly all afternoon
at Wrigley Field, the el stops and Michigan Avenue. We touched up
with powder and gloss, but everyone's makeup stayed put throughout
the day. The black a white smiling bride was taken
at 6 pm - don't worry, your makeup can stay all day and look
great, too! Photography by Jai Girard
The structure of this wedding day required full day service
from the bridal party. I was requested to be available from 8 am -
5:30 pm. Standard service is usually 3-5 hours, with a touch up
before the wedding march begins.
Exuberant Ethnic Classic Beauty Wedding Story
What an amazing family! The bride was Serbian, the groom Greek.
We started hair and makeup at 6:30 am (the shot of
the bride in the mirror) ready for the parade of groom and
groomsmen coming to the house at 11 am. The brides family had a
fabulous buffet and celebration at the house (check out
the dancing picture from early in the day). We proceeded to
the Greek cathedral at 2 pm. Everyone looked natural, yet
glamourous. Following the ceremony we were on to the Rosemont
fountain for 5:30 photos. I touched everyone up
after the church, but only lips, powder and bronzing. No one's eye
needed redoing, but look how fabulous she still looked at midnight
(last photo). Love and happiness exhuded from everyone all day
long. Photos: Furla Photography
The structure of this wedding day required extended
service.
I was requested to be available from 6:30 am to 6 pm. Standard is
3-5 hours, including pre-bridal photo time.
Sunkissed Maiden Natural Country Wedding Story
A lovely day in the country with a family of wonderful, very
down to earth low key 'never wear makeup types' teachers. Everyone
here was done in the most natural yet defined way - lots of bronzer
(even tan lines!) and a touch of navy eyeliner. Natural gloss peach
peachy tones completes the look. We started hair and makeup at a
nearby hotel and I traveled to the wedding site for an hour of
pictures prior to the ceremony. The wedding party appreciated my
ability to give them each a more dressed up look without being
overdone. Everyone enjoyed feeling and looking like a more
beautiful version of themselves.
This wedding day was a standard service, lasting approximately
3-5 hours, including pre-bridal photo time.
